E2: The Secret of Gemhold [Patlin Judging]

[Dalamar]

Rodimus sighs. He was expecting a little fight, but it seems the others were going to talk things out. How many times had it been already?

 

[Manzanita]

"Fondar stayed outside to organize the troops. He's very close. We're his friends. We're here to drive the goblins out. Come outside, if you like. You're free now. My name is Percy." says Percy.

 

[Erekose13]

"Frondar's still alive? Did you hear that Min?" says the one who spoke earlier. They still don't appear to have gotten the concept of freedom yet. Standing nervously near the edge of the ledge, the two gnomes hesitate puzzling through the implications. "Wait did you say free? but but what about the demon and his foul goblins?"

 

[Dalamar]

"Dead. Giants too."
Rodimus is getting anxious to move along, so he answers the gnomes in his compact and straightforward way.

 

[Manzanita]

"You know Fondar? Let's get you out of here. Come on." Percy extends a hand to the gnomes, and would like to escort them out. If they can be gotten moving, she'll ask, "What else is going on in there? Are there many prisoners? Do you know what enemies still lurk in the caverns?"

 

[Velmont]

Ridik stay behind, his face hidden by his hood, waiting for Percy to finish teh discussion, fearing the gnome would be scared by teh presence of a goblin within these adventurer's rank.

 

[Erekose13]

A tentative smile begins to sneak onto the face of one of the gnomes as the realization begins to sink in, "Free?" he repeats again, "Wow, its been so long to think of that. I mean we'd hoped certainly, thats why Min and I took such a huge chance to sneak away and come up here. Yesterday all the goblins were up top and then those awful drums started up and we were certain that another of us would be taken away again forever. But after that there was silence down below. Only a few task masters and the Butcher remain down there. Thats how it was so easy for us to sneak off. Oh we must free the others! There are more of us down below." says the talkative one all in a rush. The other that has been named as Min is still hesitant and tugs on the sleeve of her companion.

 

[Manzanita]

Percy smiles and tries to convey calm and a sense of victory to the gnomes. "If you don't mind staying with us a little longer, we could use a guide. Do you think you can lead us to this butcher? And tell us a little more about these 'task masters' as we walk."

 

[SlagMortar]

Nars does his best to be quiet and non-threatening, though that is harder for him than it once was. In spite of his attempts, his face darkens slightly at the thought of explaining to these that Gorefoot is not the Fondar they remember, but in fact died and was reincarnated as a halfling. Oh well, a pickle for another hour.

 

[Erekose13]

"No!" says the other one a bit louder. "Stop it Min, they are here to help." says the one you've been talking to. "No, they are here to trick us, they work for the goblins. Can't you see the one in back. He's leading them! Its one of them. What have we done!" she says. This time she moves into the cage and tries to pull her companion. Both of the gnomes are rather precariously balanced on the ledge of the cliff. One in the elevator, the other trying desperately to not fall. "Min we're going to fall! Stop!"
