Dane and Dafnin

Dane will stand around for about 10 minutes, but after that he might start to wander towards the ale-mule . . .

"Er ... well, can't hurt to try, right?" Raiyek takes the mug from Hadrak, and takes a cautious sip or two. Then the paladin settles in around the fire, listening to any other tales being told - it's not really clear whether he's keeping the 'wine' just out of politeness, or whether he actually takes a liking to it, though he does drink a little more time to time. Every now and then the elf turns his hearing outside, away from the fire, listening for any signs of trouble and keeping an ear on any other conversations in the clearing, if possible.

Questioning the Seals

[sblock=ooc]Never even saw this post.[/sblock]

Elinear calls the shifter over to them, whom he claims is a bit more familiar with the forest itself, and they manage to indicate several spots where Elinear was able to see the runes with the Warden's Assistance.

They don't make a clear formation, just being a few points, but could be construed as two layers or even a loose spiral.

Dane and Dafnin

Dafnin comes back a few minutes later looking a little cleaned up and carrying a shoulder bag. She smiles at Dane.

"Ready to go." She brushes a bit of her hair aside and leads the wall. It doesn't take long for them to come to a flat topped boulder in a bit of clearing. She climbs the rock. "Come on up and we'll see what the stars say."

[sblock=OOC]Posted it while you were posting. :)[/sblock]Questioning the Seals

Incarnation notes their location and then studies them intently, trying to intuit if there is some arcane significance to their arrangement. He bounces ideas off of Georg absently while he does so.[sblock=OOC]Arcana to see if there are any significance to the arrangement. Will try to assist Georg with a Nature check for the same question; hopefully he'll assist Incarnation's Arcana: Arcana 12, Nature 2. Ouch.[/sblock]

The Warden and Rurdev

The shifter is astounded at the speed and strength of the elder dragonborn. Even so, he quickly draws both axes and strikes out at The Warden with the flats of his blades. The elder quickly dodges one axe, but the other comes very much closer striking true, but the shifter pulls back at the last second, inflicting merely a tap with the flat of the blade. "F-F-First blood," he says and lowers his axes.

[sblock=Actions]twin strike vs warden (1d20+10=15, 1d20+10=26, 1d10+2=8, 1d10+1=10)Hopefully a 26 will hit. Rurdev ends the "duel/sparring" with first blood. If the Warden continues, I'll try and use disrupting strike to turn a hit into a miss, or yield ground if a hit is a guarantee.[/sblock]

Dane and Dafnin

Dane follows Dafnin out of the camp. He feels a bit naked without his shield & axe in hand as he travels into the woods at night . . . sober. He tries to climb up the boulder but it takes him a couple times to get the proper footing before he makes it up to were Dafnin is resting. Looking over the vast clearing and his stomach flip-flops again. This time it is not the environment but the company.

Dane looks up at the stars and says, "Hmm, dem stars hard ta read. Maybes dem in elfin'. I can't her' dem say nothin' either. Wat does dem normally say?

The elder quickly dodges one axe, but the other comes very much closer striking true, but the shifter pulls back at the last second, inflicting merely a tap with the flat of the blade. Even then, the skilled shifter knows that he was not far from a miss.

"F-F-First blood," he says and lowers his axes.

"Very well." Says the Dragonborn with a smile. He sheathes his sword. "I should have guessed you were so quick." He claps his hand on Rurdev's shoulder. "You did seem slightly unsure in your movements, new weapons?"

"Well they say lots of things." Dafnin says as she moves close to Dane. She points with arm closest to him so her can easily follow the lines of her finger. "Some don't change much, showing histories long past. Some show us direction, acting as wayfarers to the Astral Heavens, others try and tell us what might become. I've spent my whole life trying to learn the language of the celestials."

She sighs and leans closer into Dane. "This pattern above us is new. It says. . ." and she seems to strain for a moment. "Trust in danger."

[sblock=OOC]Did the young dragonborn have any reaction to what Raiyek said to him?

Also, very nice with the Fibonacci reference, john. That's more than just a good skill check. :)[/sblock]
