Rukus looks at Shadow for a moment, and then gives a nod of his head and a casual two-finger salute. "Glad to have you aboard, chief." he says, offering that same toothy grin.

"Like I was saying to one of yer boys, we got a few of the raiders all tied up, and ready to go. We roughed 'em up a bit, but didn't get a whole lot outta 'em - mostly just a few lies that contradict eaech other every three seconds. So, we did the next best thing - told them all sortsa stuff bout you lads."

Rukus laughs, as he starts walking towards a set of doors that obviously lead into the interior of the tower. Without turning around, he calls back to you "This way, chief. I told 'em you were master torturers. From Karrnath, would you believe? Any case, they ate it up. They about three seconds away from staining their trousers, y'know?"

Rukus says "Stay here. Keep an eye out for ol' Maj." to the two men on the balcony, and then heads indoors.

Perhaps we made a social error. I recall hearing something about a captain always being the last onto a small craft and the first off. Did we damage our credibility when Shadow did not come aboard first?

Tondrek's dumb smile does not fade as the discussion passes over his head. He instead focuses on the skycoach, the traffic beneath them, Guardian, or some other random object of his passing. When someone finally nudges him, he happily follows, muttering something regarding 'aerial super-speedways' and 'transmutation inertial dampeners'.

Rukus leads you down a wide stone hallway, lined with more stone columns that have cracked over the years. Many of the magically-lit lanterns have become grimed-over, and produce only a modicum of light. Every thirty feet or so, a door is found on either side of the hall, with a simple plaque reading a business name, like:

"Ohren Gaar, Magewright Architect"

or

"Marlowe, Jacob, and Sons - Professional Pest Removal"

or even

"Madame Whow's Gentleman's Happy Club"

Each door is made of a different material, and surrounded by a variety of tiles or plants, as if owners have made their own modifications to their store fronts. After several of these "fronts", Rukus leads you to a door, unmarked by any plaque. Two men, wearing loose-fitting clothing and apparently half-elven, lean against the wall and nod to Rukus silently. He produces a key, and starts fiddling with the lock.

"This would be Graff's 'office', if'n ya want to call it that." He mutters. "Pardon the mess; the Captain keeps a shoddy deck."

The door opens into a fairly dark room. Stepping in, you see yellowed papers lining the walls - blueprints and schematics of ship designs and arcane matrices, obviously, although figuring it all out would probably take a lifetime.

The room itself is large, with a side kitchen that is seperated from the main room by a wall, but no doors. three doors run along the left wall at fairly even intervals. The whole far wall consists of curtains that do a very good job of keeping the light out.

The acual main room has several small tables that are covered in dishware, as well as three couches that have obviously seen better days. The walls are lined with wall-mounted bookshelves, and a writing desk sits against the right wall. Surrounding the writing desk are books piled on the floor, at least two feet high. Many of these books have been opened, and lay sprawled about.

The floor of the room is an absolute mess, covered with stray papers, mugs, and articles of clothing.

A few men, wearing rough clothing, lay sprawled on the couches, and look at you as you enter. The second they see Rukus, a few of them head into one of the doors (which appears to lead to a bedroom) and start coming out with bags of prepacked equipment, which they place near the door.

IN the middle of the room, which has been cleared of furniture, are three men tied in chairs. All of them look even scruffier than the half-elves, and all of them are severely bruised and bloodied up. Much of this blood has seeped into the floor below them. Their skin is a mass of purple, red, and black.

Two men glare at you as you enter, but are obviously more than a little afraid. The third man doesn't look up - his head is suspended in the chair, and he doesn't move... most likely unconscious.

T'Ranis addresses Shadow quietly before the group aproaches the prisoners.

"Captain, I recomend moving each prisoner into a seperate room before interrogation. We can then cross-check them if they are dishonest."

Tondrek sees nothing else in the room. The room itself could have the most beautiful of women or power unimaginable, but for Tondrek, all that exists are the plans. He hems and haws and pontificates to himself, eating up every detail he can see, shuffling the paper, shuffling from one to the other, and occasionally noticing the oddly placed book. As far as he is concerned, the prisoners have seized to exist.

OOC: Tondrek is going to try to absorb as much as he can in his little Tondrek heaven.

As the second mate tells about the story he made up to the captive, about them being master torturer, Haltash thinks to Shadow The torturer should be me, play with that story.. Before entering Graff's office Haltash manifest a power on Shadow, and everyone around Haltash hear a small chimering sounds in there head. Your lies will be more convincing.

As they enter, he walks toward the first prisonner and look at him without a word, just a simple smiles. He then repeat that for each prisonners. Once that done, he turns toward Shadow and asks "By which one should I start?" As he asks that question, a small chime ring in everyone heads while a faint odor can be smell for a chort moment.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Manifest Conceal Thought on Shadow. He has +10 to Bluff when opposed by Sense Motive for 3 hours and +4 against reda mind powers.

Manifest Demoralize in the room. All enemy must roll there Will against a DC: 15 or be shaken for 3 minutes.

PP left 18/20.[/SBLOCK]

The first two prisoners regard Haltash with more than a little nervousness, their eyes (three between the two of them; one prisoner's eye is so swollen shut as to be useless) never settling on one place for long.

The third prisoner, as Haltash gets closer, is obviously dead.

The one with the swollen eye gulps, and then says loudly "I don't know nothing that I haven't already told you we were hired oh gods they left us here to die!"

T'Ranis signals a crewman for help, and removes the prisoner who hasn't spoken yet from the room.

Shadow is a little surprised at being named the leader. This quickly vanishes.

"It appears our choice has been made for us."

OOC: I'll let Haltash, as official bad guy, go first. The kindness impacts harder, and he's set a better mood for a 'bad guy.'
