Like most bad guys species are slavers, most others have a variant that are slavers. Slavery is the vast majority and the default in D&D land because there's apparently no other way to show you're evil besides owning others and maybe cannibalism. Except all the cannibals' are either lone weirdos or... drumroll... slavers!Slavery is omni-present in D&D? News to me.
Not omni-present, but an established bad guy activity practiced by many cultures. Removing it seems ridiculously ham-fisted to me.Slavery is omni-present in D&D? News to me.
I guess I have never really noticed, probably because I don't use or care about D&D default "lore."Like most bad guys species are slavers, most others have a variant that are slavers. You can't swing a dead displacer beast without hitting a slaver, slave or former slave race and I'm okay with the slave hose being dialed down a bit.

Then burn my eyes out, please.
I'd say it's the Mercane or Dohwar that fit into that mold.
the mercane sell stuff like spelljamming helms to anyone for the right price.Could be. I'm not that familiar with Spelljammer.
Most of what I know about the Neogri comes from 3.5 Lords of Madness.
