I think Gary said in a interview once something about that if D&D players were satanic and were conspiring to rule the world that it would have already happened since every nuclear sub had a D&D group on board.

Ed (I think it was him) was in a radio interview on CBC many months ago talking about D&D and he spoofed a traditional role playing session on air with the other guy.
"Okay, so, you're in a tavern...because all of these things start in taverns."
