Campaign Suite lets you create 'equipment templates' with random or set amounts of EQ, and some that will only happen at certain levels, and a number of other 'generated' rules. Of course, all characters can be printed out on character sheets, exported to HTML, or printed in a nice handy statblock. You could, say, have a "simple piercing weapon" or "armor under 150 gold" or "Random minor potion" ... All set up in the template editor.
Have someone working right now at adding several of these NPC templates (we refer to them as Professions in the software) so in theory there may be hundreds of them already pre-made to generate equipment with.
