About ten years back I got paid to do some editing on a pipe-dream project tentatively called the Unnaturalist's Guide to Fantasy Literature. Nothing ever came of it (the writer finished about 40 pages, got bored and quit) but it might have been close to what you were looking for if it had been finished. Maybe.

Been tempted to steal "Unnaturalist" for my own use ever since, though. "An Unnatural History of Aberrations" sounds even better than "Lords of Madness" did.

The Spiral Zone, that is!

At the rate RPGs for the big 80s and 90s cartoons are coming out, we can't be too far off from the more obscure shows getting their own books. The license for Captain Simian and the Space Monkees shouldn't exactly be expensive at this point. I, for one, welcome the prospect of Silverhawks: the RPG.
