My Ink Runneth Over

Has anyone else noticed that the print in the core books smears very very easily?

Not mine -- it's really well printed. I wonder if a bad batch got through?

All good so far, and it's humid as hell over here right now.

But I usually just turn pages by the top edges; I don't touch the actual page.

My PHB does it. Not the MM or DMG though. Noticed it a few weeks ago when Clark sent 'em to me.

Ahh. I've noticed it with all three books now, starting with the DMG about three weeks ago. Seems to be less of a problem if my hands are freshly washed. I suspect the ink may be soluble in oil even after printing. That's sort of a problem.

You're right, happened with my DMG. It's annoying, I guess those pages are just too damn shiny.

Mine are fine, no smudges whatsoever. And yesterday was the hottest day in my city for the date in the past 86 years (it reached 32 Celcius), and was very very humid to boot. And still no smudging.

I think I held my finger on a page in the PHB for a few minutes, marking my spot, and it smudged.
