The creature cackles triumphantly, revealing a gap-toothed maw; the remaining teeth nearly as green as moss with grime.

The goblin's riposte stirs an ancient memory from Maenor's youth. The grizzled swordmaster effortlessly parries a young Maenor's thrust. "Wait for an opening, then strike. Don't think, feel." His muscles ached from hours of practice, and he had yet to score a single blow on his instructor. He took a deep breath, and tried to find his center. He opened himself to the world around him. He saw the blow coming, and emptied his mind. His muscles, seemingly acting of their own accord, parried his swordmaster's stroke and delivered a retaliatory slash of their own. The swordmaster beamed at the young prince. "Well done. We might just make a swordsman of you yet.

Maenor snaps back to reality just in time to carefully twist away from a vicious spear thrust. He grins slightly to himself as he readies for the next assault, then he sees his opportunity. He grabs the unfortunate goblin with his off hand and jerks him hard towards himself, thrusting downwards with his wakizashi at the same time. The blade pierces the goblin's collar bone all the way to the hilt, the magic along the blade crackling wildly as it rends the goblin's flesh. The poor creature twitches slightly as Maenor retracts his blade and sways unsteadily before toppling over.

Regar stops on the bridge. Legs wobbling slightly, he allows the others to pass and focuses on casting his summon monster spell. An eagle, about 30ft in front of him and 15 ft higher. He focuses on the area in front, humming and mutterring incantations, hands moving about in a quite beautiful spiral. The location in front of him begins to glow as the magic begins to take flight, but Regar needs a little more time before he can use it in combat.
