I won't deny that's how I defined it.how are you defining the golden age? The only way I can see is ‘edition I personally liked best’

Exactly.Folks here are confused about books. The future of D&D is in the digital product.
Incrementally, yes. You get it now.Exactly.
WOTC tried to digitize in 4e but had tragedy. WOTC is trying to do it with 5.5e.
Once everyone is building and buying on DNDB and the VTT, they can update stuff under the hood.
My point was that 5e is not a good base for incremental designIncrementally, yes. You get it now.
Only time will tell.My point was that 5e is not a good base for incremental design
You are certainly entitled to express your opinion. And the beautiful thing is, you can still play 3.5 with anyone you find willing to play with you.3.5 is the golden age of D&D, not 5E, 5E is a decline like 4E. They should go back to 3.5
I have youthful nostalgia for 3.5, but...no.3.5 is the golden age of D&D, not 5E, 5E is a decline like 4E. They should go back to 3.5
3E/PF1 remains my preferred fantasy RPG, but I recognize that time is over for D&D.I have youthful nostalgia for 3.5, but...no.
I mean, I certainly don't begrudge anyone preferring one Edition or another. But "Golden Age" is a term that denotes certain objective markers of flourishing, and it is pretty inarguable at this point that the back half of the Teens and early Twenties have been better D&D than any other period in that way.3E/PF1 remains my preferred fantasy RPG, but I recognize that time is over for D&D.
