Hear ye, hear ye!

Bone Guardian construct Beta 0.9.8 has been released for public testing. The construct is largely untested, for as I have no internet connection myself, I could only test it locally, offline. Will it work online? Maybe yes, maybe not, that's why I need people to test it. So what's it do you ask?

Bone Guardian is basically a stand-alone IRC bot, able to connect to any IRC server without the use of third-party software. The Guardian is meant to be the perfect companion and tool for an online D&D game played via IRC, coming to the aid of both DM and player alike, to make online gaming better and easier. Some of the features included in version 0.9.8 are:
* Dice Roller
* Calendar, keeping track of time on Toril and Sigil
* Mimir, featuring fully customizable databases thus being effectively an encyclopedia on anything from general notes on people, places, monsters or items, to knowledge relevant exclusively to a particular campaign, such as information on NPCs, past events or locations of interest in your game world, all accessible online by players and DM alike during game sessions.

But enough about that. To see for yourself what it does, just download these 2 files and then run the exe.

Sorry for having to files, but the server they're on has a 1Mb limit per file. Anyways, after you install download and run the setup, you might get some error during installation, if you have Ms Office installed on your computer, something about 'MSADO.TLB'. Just ignore it. Run the bot and enjoy. Be sure to read the readme file it comes with.

If for some reason the bot doesn't work, as in doesn't connect to a server, you can always download IRC SERV from here
http://www.surfingsquirrel.com/download/IRCServ.zip
It's a 98k download, and it simulates a local IRC server. Run it and use Bone Guardian to connect to server '127.0.0.1'

Any and all feedback recieved is appreciated, and with your help I'm sure I could make Bone Guardian into something much better, and hopefully usefull. Ok, that's it. Rot'n'roll!

Bone Guardian Update

Well, only a day has passed, and already the first update is available. Two major bugs were fixed, namely the !roll command not working and the bot crashing on some servers. Anyway, it should work just fine now. To get the update, either download the 2 files of the instal kit (again), or if you already have it installed you can just download the patch (also included in this post) available here:
