Both of you are going to be scouting, but how do you want to handle the light? You both have darkvision (Lumrolur 120 ft, Corse 60 ft). But I think Corse wanted to have a light for the rest of the party's benefit?

That was my plan, yes. The light is to help others ,not herself.

Doubling up on advance scout isn't necessarily helpful, though. If Lumrolur wants that position, then Corse can go somewhere else (as suggested). She wants to be maximally useful.

Rest of the party can make/carry their own light - don't disparage advantage on stealth and perception with a pair, it avoids nat1 disasters and makes it more likey that we're surprisING and not surprisED ;)

Edit: and there are enough of us that we can split in funktional pairs

Sorry I've been super busy lately. Alma has the light cantrip so she can help with that. When we get close to the camp, she can also cast Detect Thoughts to see if there are any sentient beings within 30ft, but it only lasts a minute so she can't keep it up the whole climb.

also having Boy there to help track Garret is probably the fastest way to get to him, alive or dead

Would be nice to have navigator or tracker somewhere. Russet can do it, but I think having a "looking for danger" in the vanguard would be useful!

Anyone want to take one of those or swap positions with Russet?
 

I don't have proficiency in either Survival or Nature. I can try to Navigate as I have a decent Int bonus for unskilled Nature checks but Logrim would not offer as he is not a tracker or navigator. Logrim would be more comfortable investigating stuff when it comes to that.

Here's a graphic of what I'm understanding / assuming so far...

Yellow aura = bright light, White/grey aura = dim light
Orange line = roping together with ~100-ft rope (Boy & Ludo are off rope)
Squares are 5 feet

Reminder: Darkvision has limited range, even in darkness (60 ft or 120 ft for deep gnome). In dim light, Perception checks have Disadvantage. This applies even for Darkvision "converting" darkness > dim light for you. Zeth with his Devil's Sight is the exception, being able to see within 120 feet as if it were bright light, irrespective of the darkness.
