Free mapping software

Hello.

I'm interested in learning all there is to know about the free mapping utilities for every kind of map (overworld maps, city and village maps, building maps and dungeon maps) available, as well as comments or reviews of them, and, of course and most important, the address of the site where I can download them to my computer. Any help you guys (and gals) can give will be much appreciated.

There is a little program called Hex Mapper which does some great overland maps. They are pretty basic but effective. You can find a brief description and the download link here under the programs link.
