No More Massive Tomes of Rules

Index placement is a big one too. My battletech sources drive me nuts. They place a dozen or more game sheets after the index. 🤦‍♂️

The "I Didn't Comment in Another Thread" Thread

That sounds like a comment more worried about what the internet thinks and not what their actual playgroup does.

    The reboot is better.

No More Massive Tomes of Rules

I dont even use physical books anymore so I really dont notice length. My test is at the table. If an occasional reference check is necessary (after a few rounds of learning the game of course) that seems about right to me.

What keeps uninterested players showing up each session?

I wonder how many folks read that and say, “yeah…not me.”?

    D&D (2024) New D&D Edition's Player’s Handbook Cover Reveal

Its a good picture, but a little too matte for my taste. Wish it was a little more dynamic. Though, its a good adventure party with an old school feel.

What criticisms do you have for current or previously used systems?

Sure I also notice a lot of "Insert game does X in a Y way, but I prefer X done in a Z way; therefore insert game sucks". Having some awareness about your preferences is a good thing.

    Tell Me About DC20

A friend sent me the beta rules. I read them but never tried them. My impression is it was an attempt to take 5E and add a little 4E/PF2 to it.
