D&D General D&D Red Box: Who Is The Warrior?

Why are you offended by this miniature?

D&D General Ready for playtest: a "5E-lite" retroclone

OK, took a quick skim now and i will amend my previous post a bit. I would not call this 5e lite. It is not 5e at all IMO. It seems like a fun game, but I would tether it to 5e in anyway. Heck I feel Shadowdark is more 5e lite than this and that game claims to OSR. To be clear, I am not...

D&D 5E Who tried to end the OGL?

I actually don't think it is the same. Is there a better word I should use? I am happy to adopt your suggestion. Sure, but I think that will lead to poor results. I mean I can think of logical reasons why it takes time, but I am not going to convince you and I don't really think it matters...

D&D General Ready for playtest: a "5E-lite" retroclone

Just looked through the ToC so far. First thought, I am not sure this is 5e "lite." At least the number of different Saves would suggest otherwise. Regardless, it looks interesting. I will give my thoughts when I have more time to give it a read.

D&D 5E Who tried to end the OGL?

There you go being insulting again. Can you stop? We can't really rationally scrutinize, IMO, because we don't really know the reasons. That is really the end of the discussion as far as I am concerned. We don't know that is reason, or part of the reason, or not the reason as all. We don't...

D&D 5E Who tried to end the OGL?

It is more correct to say that it doesn't make sense to you. Of course how could it as we don't know the reason! I'm only interested in what you are complaining about.

D&D 5E Who tried to end the OGL?

There is a reason it is taking them 2 years to put the SRD(s) into CC. I assume you don't like that reason because you are complaining about it.

D&D 5E Who tried to end the OGL?

There is a reason, you just don't like the result.

D&D General The 13th Age 2nd Edition Kickstarter Has Launched

The kickstarter said that despite those comments not being in the playtest, they will be in the final print version.

Black Flag Kobold Press' Black Flag System Reference Document Released

To be clear I am not familiar with ORC , so this all may be a misunderstanding of what I read posted here. If ORC is just covering mechanics, I have no issue with that. I thought the post that I initially responded too suggested that ORC was also giving away IP stuff: lore, names, etc. If that...

Black Flag Kobold Press' Black Flag System Reference Document Released

That is why I said less publisher friendly. As an artist / publisher I want to the rights to control some of my work. ORC makes that impossible - that is not friendly IMO. Now I agree some publishers took the intent of the OGL to far, but taking away protections completely is an issue I think...

D&D General What Edition was it?

Not completely pulled from 4e. The big difference was in the quote. In 4e your death saves reset after a rest vs 5e where the reset when you are stabilized or gain any hit points. So in any given combat you only ever get 3 failures in 4e while they can be virtually infinite in 5e.

D&D General What Edition was it?

Same, never read 0e so I assumed those questions were 1e. I never played 3e so I don't know it very well either, but I did much better on those questions than 0e!

Black Flag Kobold Press' Black Flag System Reference Document Released

That is interesting. Thank you for pointing it out. I was unaware ORC required you to release everything. Makes it a little less publisher friendly than I thought.

D&D General What Edition was it?

I got 11/20. I guess I am in good with @Maxperson! Though, I lot of the older ones were just guesses. I did get the 4e death save correct (and Mearls didn't)!

RPG Print News – Chaosium, Space Penguin Ink, and More

I was unaware of the "Mother of Monsters" adventures and setting. I will have look into a bit more - I do like ancient Greek style settings. The runequest books look pretty awesome too, if costly.

WotC 2024 D&D Core Rules Will Be Added To SRD In 2025

Sure, but nothing for the next 10 years quite compares to the 2024 core rule updates. So they probably have a point.
