While I have never had the opportunity to play in such a "game", I do think it could be quite interesting...especially if the PCs were all (non-human) Elves, Halflings, Dwarves, etc. :)

I myself have decided to go 100% homebrewed following the Lost Mine of Phandelver set of adventures. :) I am also homebrewing all wilderness points beyond the map given with LMoP...I am just not enthusiastic about running a Forgotten Realms setting...

Like some of the other commenters here, I feel that the only Kara-Tur update we will see for 5th edition will be via Unearthed Arcana. :( A pity really, I want to see something/anything else beside more "Sword Coast only" material...
