If you nerf/rewrite the ten percent of spells that are causing most of the issues, I think you can fix at least ninety percent of the problems with the Wizard and at least pull it into parity with the other full spell casters.

Was there ever any word of how the Bastions did in its playtest? If it got 50 percent approval I could easily see them dumping that feature and using that DMG space for any number of other things rather than iterate something that the community was mixed on.
