D&D General D&D Red Box: Who Is The Warrior?

Holmes was half of my first experience. My first adventure was as an AD&D Ranger exploring the Holmes sample dungeon!

D&D General D&D Red Box: Who Is The Warrior?

Yes, it's only randomized; but maybe an unpainted version will eventually be available? I haven't figured out how they decide what gets an unpainted release. They haven't promised to release the 1983 Basic Red Box Dragon, but they are releasing a mini of Sutherland's 1977 Holmes Basic Dragon -...

D&D General D&D Red Box: Who Is The Warrior?

Dunno. I’m old and already have so many general-use minis that I won’t consider buying randomized minis packs. But I would buy several of these 50th anniversary chase miniatures, if they are available individually at non-astronomical prices. I’m particularly interested in buying this one...

The Ethics of Two Way Ignore

I like the firehose-of-everything that is the “latest posts” feed. I’m potentially interested in anything from any of the subforums, and any tag. It’s just the occasional thread that I want to specifically kill - and thus far, ignoring the first poster of that thread is the only method I’ve...

The Ethics of Two Way Ignore

I have no interest in stopping it. But I did successfully banish it! 💪

D&D 5E Potential Monsters in Quests from the Infinite Staircase Adventures

Thank you for the refresher on these, Echohawk! Wizards chose an excellent set of adventures to update. I have the two OAR 5e conversions already, but When a Star Falls, Pharoah, and Crystal Cave are all favorites. I really look forward to introducing these to my son, etc.

The Ethics of Two Way Ignore

Which reminds me: Years ago, I muted user "megamania" not because of anything about them, but simply because I desperately wanted to make the title "Happy Haggert* Hurried Hungry Hitch Hiking Hired Henchmen Hivers.... apply within" disappear from my "Latest Posts" feed. *: [sic!] And it...

The Ethics of Two Way Ignore

I've ignored/one-way-blocked [...checking...] 38 now-deleted accounts.* I mostly read here, and I like to keep my reading uncluttered. It keeps me in a happy place, which is mostly what I come here for. *: I think a struck-out name and a "This user's profile is not available" means deleted for...

Asmodee Owner To Split Into 3 Companies

Why? My first/uninformed reaction is that it sounds ominous.

TSR Example from the worst TSR adventure module(s) ever published

Sadly, it lies just a bit north of Monday’s total solar eclipse path, but I am partial to Cahokia’s “Woodhenge.” https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cahokia

D&D General OAR 7: Dark Tower

I’m not sure that’s true? If I understood Jennell’s and Goodman’s Games’ comments on the subject correctly, Judges Guild owned Dark Tower outright, and Goodman bought those rights from Judges Guild. I hope/trust Goodman worked out something with Jennell, but I don’t know if they had to? But...

D&D 5E Vecna: Eve of Ruin Coming May 21st!

It’s entirely possible Eve of Ruin could conclude with a giant reset of the Realms to 1357. (I hope not.)

D&D 5E Vecna: Eve of Ruin Coming May 21st!

There was a brief flurry of Jon Pertwee broadcasts in the US in the early 70s, but older/B&W Doctor Who like Keys of Marinus didn’t hit the US until after Tom Baker broadcasts were a hit in 1978+. So Doctor Who, either Keys of Marinus or 1978’s Key To Time, is unlikely to have influenced...

Which team will win Super Bowl LVIII?

I know nothing about today’s game, but I’ve just realized that next year’s game will be: SUPER BOWL LVIV* *: or Super Bowl LIX, if you insist, but that sounds a little bit naughty.

Doctor Who Ncuti Gatwa Xmas Special & s1

“Was I in there long? It felt like centuries.” More seriously: Tom’s lost a lot of weight the last few years, and is looking every bit of 90 years old. I hope, someday, to be fortunate enough to look 90 years old on my own 90th birthday!

That wasn’t a monster! That story’s monster was the human who trapped that poor, misunderstood Creature.

Doctor Who Ncuti Gatwa Xmas Special & s1

Good, I think. (Having not really seen enough to have an opinion on Millie's acting or character.) Most modern companions' first season has seemed to me to be their most interesting. (IMO, YMMV.)
