I'm watching "Eye of the Beholder: The Art of Dungeons and Dragons" right now and Darlene was just talking about creating the map, so that hit home with extra punch

Ever since I was a kid, I thought of myself as a very angry person. Later in life I was doing a heart meditation, where you really looked into your heart. I was nervous about this, because I didn't know what I was going to do with all of the anger in there. But when I actually looked in my heart, I realized it was all just fear. These days, I try to embrace the fear.

I'm always angry (must be the reason why the Hulk is my favorite Marvel character) but RPGs are not remotely on my list of things worth getting angry about.

(though the way some people treat others because of RPGs does make me angry)

The benefit I'd found at that point in my life was that anger often got things done (in a way that sadness or fear didn't). The problem was that I was getting the distinct feeling it was going to start getting the wrong things done...
