It being for charity will drive some sales but I think its "official" status is the main driver. There is a huge portion of the community that will only buy official products and will buy anything official.

I find it interesting-- in a good way-- that this is only available on DMsGuild and not Beyond. I can see it taking some time to get to FG or Roll20, but one would think this would get a simultaneous release on WotC's primary platform. Could that speak to the relationship with Arcanum Worlds? Or a concern about revenue sharing on Beyond?

That was my guess, but I think pretty pictures and devils help sell things too.

At least one of the artists, Luis Lasahido, has done art for Magic: the Gathering before (some of their art was included in the Strixhaven book, like this piece). I've had a hard time finding things done by most of the other people, besides the main ones that work for Arcanum Worlds.

If it gets released for Roll20, I will snap it up in heartbeat. We just completed BG

iA last year, and the players had a lot of fun with that adventure. Being able to continue their characters beyond 11th level would be tremendous.

Certainly in the Manual of the Planes thread there was at least one person (maybe more?) who explicitly said they wouldn't buy a $30 RPG book with no art.

I will admit I was not planning on buying it because of the lack of art, but I caved eventually!

Niiiiice. Despite its flaws, I would like to run Descent Into Avernus, and a semi-sequel that expands it into a full 1-20 campaign is very cool.

Yep, I know he is an author but that is it. I gathered from some posts here that he is well respected, but I haven't read any of his work.
