A twenty-foot-wide moat divides this shrine into northern and southern halves. In the north half, two large stone pillars flank an altar in the form of a plain stone block. A few coins lie on the altar. Above and behind the altar looms a huge symbol made from beams of driftwood, fixed in an X-like shape on the wall. A single stone door leads westward from this part of the room.

In the southern half of the room, two ten-foot-wide channels run along the east and west walls ofthe shrine, spilling out through low culverts to the south. Two more pillars stand here, and a low stone bridge leads across the dividing channel to the altar and the northern part of the room.

Thaliss and Caradoc immediately recognize a prominent figure standing in the middle of the room. It is your old wood elf companion Tolan, still holding onto a shark-toothed sword, though larger than you had seen before. He seems to be accompanied by a large demonic frog creature and five lizardfolk.

He beckons you to come forth. "So you too have spent too much time in these halls. What infernal elemental have you sworn fealty to? Or do you wish to pledge yourself to the tide? If so, the master can induct you below. I could take you there, if you wish."

"Tolan...you came here to stop these cults. With us. Turn away, come with us back to the sun."

"Maighan's right, Tolan," says Carradoc, looking at where he could pace a fireball if needed to catch both Tolan and the Frog creature, along with two of the lizard folk [AR6].

"We're not letting any of the elements win this. It's a senseless war, and it makes no sense to pick sides."

Players turn.

Then enemies turn.

Then trolls can act.

Three lizardfolk are consumed in the conflagration. One is miraculously unharmed.

The demon seems to shrug off the vast majority of the fire damage.

Tolan seems as though he was ready for the blast to some degree taking less than full damage.

Party still has actions.

"Oh, that is how it is!" Kubeba laughs. "I guess you didn't part on the best of terms."

With a bloodcurdling roar he launches himself at the demon frog creature, his axe a blur of motion as it seeks to find gaps in the creatures defences.

Kubeba closes in on the demon and realizes it... stinks.

He hits with his first attack at least, dealing considerable damage (were you using a magic weapon? I can look later). Thaliss and Maighan have actions.
