As he did so, he unstrapped the long staff from his horse and concentrated for a moment as he did so.

OOC: Using the staff of the vonindod. I suspect these fire giants are also looking for ancient bits of adamantium?

Bellalalalinda cocks her crossbow, readying an attack in case combat breaks out. But she's not firing yet. Instead, she runs due west, getting closer, and potentially flanking the nearest giant. Whistler interposes himself, but moves west as well.

Bellalalalalinda signals to her companions. Her comical gestures trying to mime "chain gang" are almost uninterpretable over the distance with her small hands, but she feel she has communicated effectively when she points in the direction she sees them.

She is content to circumvent this conflict, and she hopes their new trolls can be convinced to do so as well.
