SMALL ARMS OF THE WORLD, VOLUME I: 1950-2000

Small Arms of the World features the most comprehensive list of firearms ever published for a role-playing game: Over 800 different models, plus variant types, from around the world.

· Every weapon is described, illustrated, and rated for use with d20.

· Covers pistols, rifles, shotguns, submachine guns, machineguns, sniping rifles, anti-material rifles, grenades and grenade launchers, and near future weapons, such as the OICW and Lacroix 76.2 mm SUW.

· Extensive information on weaponry carried by military, intelligence, and law enforcement agencies worldwide. If you want to know what gun an FBI agent is issued, or what the Russian army’s standard sniping rifle is, or what weapons an SAS commando team might be carrying, look no further!

· Detailed information explaining the differnt types of pistols, why a submachine gun uses pistol ammunition, what makes up an assault rifle, and a long list of other commonly asked questions.

· The cover of the book was illustrated by comic book artist Joe Wight, of Antarctic Press and creator of Twilight X.

I have included an image of the beta cover design and will post a sample of the interior linework by myself and David Martin later in this thread.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Sample Gun Illustrations Random

Ask and you shall receive!

Here is a sample of the type of gun illustrations. These images were seen at the GAMA Trade Show earlier this year.

Shown are the Russian APS Underwater Assault Rifle, the FN 30-11 Sniping Rifle, the IMI Jericho Pistol, the Russian RG-6 Grenade Launcher, and the Grozna PSO 7.62 OT (Conversion).

Sample of a Series Weapon Art

Ok, so we all know there are multitude of Glock and MP5 variants, not mention a couple hundred versions of the M1911 Colt .45. To make sure this book did not weigh a hundred pounds we tackled the designs that were innovative.

You won't see 100 images of the M1911.

You will however see variants like the Russian Grozna OTs 14-4A. Essentially designed to fill a role similar to that of the Colt M4 Carbine, this weapon comes in a box with a variety of attachments, from silencer to grenade launcher (not pictured here). It is designed to handle 4 main mission goals and each variant is designated 01 through 04 (04 - grenade launcher - not pictured here).

Here is the art...

Oooooh lotsa guns!

The book sounds tres cool Richard; I especially like the inclusion of bunches of new Russian weapons and details on which organizations use which stuff. Congrats on the venture.

Yeah, we are pretty excited about it as well. We hope that it will raise the bar on the quality, research, and content that goes into an "Encyclopedia" book like this. We look at this and think "What would we want?"

I mean, the assault rifle section contains over 130 listings and art alone, the D20 charts in the back expand on that including a vast number of variants.

My personal goal is do a series of books that are this large and detailed and cover a large scope of topics. We hope to be releasing the companion to this book, Small Arms of the World: 1900 to 1950, sometime next year.

Cheers!
