Well, these days, yes, but like most of their stuff it started out at Grenadier. Lot of really nice monster sculpts from them that still hold up well today. I'm partial to this old swamp critter myself.
The now-defunct Pacesetter had a nice resin Demogorgon sculpt too.
But my favorite mini...
Sluggishly finishing up the last few Ngaio Marsh novels I haven't ever gotten around to in an attempt to find something my sister might enjoy, as she's developed a sudden curiosity about mystery as a genre. Most recent was Light Thickens, which was a very odd entry. It's one of several...
How was Traveller Hero, anyway? It's one of the few Traveller things I never tried - none of the local stores ever stocked it and I'm lazy about mail ordering.
That probably explains why it's never let you down. Not everything you skipped was bad by any means, but there were some disappointments between those two. Still much more likely to reach for LBB than any of the other GDW editions, honestly.
Sort of, but that still meant SJG was taking a chance on the existing late-90s fan base wanting to play in an unfamiliar system rather than going with Imperium's T4 rules (which were closer to Classic Traveller) or just continuing to use one of the earlier GDW systems in whatever setting they...
Even including the all GDW editions it's somewhere in my personal top three or four, and I don't even consider myself that big of a GURPS fan. I give them a lot of credit for just flat-out saying "no, that never happened" to the metaplot that started in MT and led to TNE, which was pretty bold...
Have to admit, much as I like Traveller I wouldn't go that far myself. Wasn't thrilled with TNE, nor with T4, and even less so with T20. The IP's still got a good track record but it's had some disappointments as well.
A villain written up to resolve a lingering Major Twist effect from a campaign that ended before I could use him. Well, maybe someday…
Musclemind Maximus, Not As Dead As Expected
Seriously, when you stop the Doomsday Device on the last turn with a Major Twist to boot, that villain you dumped...
Maybe not as a title, but just declare your parents were both named Pope before they got married, decided to hyphenate it, and then pulled a Catch-22 Major Major Major Major thing and made your first and middle names Pope and Pope. You can at least start as Pope Pope Pope-Pope.
Don't fancy...
Correct. It's a handy visual filter for me. I still look at new ones but with a rare few exceptions anything with more than a few pages of posts gets skipped. I dislike the amount of cruelty to deceased equines that tends to arise after a fairly short while.
There does seem to be an uptick lately, but it might be my imagination. I actively avoid a lot of orange threads at this point so I may be missing a lot of them if it's edition wars related. OTOH, there have been a couple of pretty dreadful posts from brand-new accounts recently too, at least...
Think big, just in case. If there's one thing years of comics have taught me it's that supervillainy is never punished proportionately. You're much better off looting Fort Knox with your army of robot minions than robbing a gas station.
Also, when you escape prison the authorities just let...
I think I'd probably just move on rather than do that. Never liked getting too settled and working the grind - although I've also never been offered enough (in terms of both cash and security) to really be tested. Last I counted I've outlived twelve employers over the last ~40 years, and I've...
Why in blazes are we calling these things funnels? You know, the adventures where you take a bunch of utterly unqualified characters and shove them through a dangerous situation until most of them die (often hilariously) and then the survivors get to be real PCs from then on? Essentially a...
