The VOIDRUNNER'S CODEX is coming! Explore new worlds, fight oppressive empires, fend off fearsome aliens, and wield deadly psionics with this comprehensive boxed set expansion for 5E and A5E!
SW is always gonna feel little bit pulpy. While it can be swingy it actually very hard to to kill a character. Incapacitate sure, kill, not easy. SW supports mostly action and action adjacent games. It is not the game I would pick for a gritty low fantasy experience (though with the Gritty...
2d20 Achtung! Cthulhu Starter Box, D-Day, and Forest of Fear.
I bought them to use for Savage Worlds (or maybe GURPS) but I might have to give 2d20 another shot.
Lots of good and practical advice up thread. All I would add is you have to take care of yourself. If you don’t the burn out and stress will creep into the other parts of your life.
The only practical advice I’d maybe give is find a game to play in and dry and discover your hobby joy again...
A streamlined GURPS. Theoretically I love jt. In reality it plays slow and cumbersome for me. But when I want something gritty it’s what I reach for first. Then walk it back.
I’ve run three chapters of Masks of Nyarlathotep in Savage Worlds.
I ran the Zalozhniy Quartet for Nights Black Agents in both GURPS and Savage Worlds
I’ve run 3.5 era Necromancer Games stuff in GURPS Dungeon Fantasy.
I’m gearing up for a Blades in the Dark game using Savage Worlds.
I...
that's the plan. The biggest change is a fundamental change to the Bennie economy and I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little nervous about it. In my changes for this specific game, I've replaced general bennies with a Stress stat. The Stress stat does everything a Bennie can do, plus the Flashbacks...
I used to run only fantasy. I’ve made a conscious effort to expand what I run/am comfortable dragging my kicking and screaming players along with me.
Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn’t.
Of I had to be pinned down right now I’d say multiple worlds. I want warp travel in at least one chapter. Definitely multiple worlds in the same system.
In my head the Australia connections are being pursued by a rival Radical =I=, the London sections involve planetary nobility, the New York...
Currently obsessed with building out a Blades in the Dark style game in Savage Worlds.
Running PF1 Wrath of the Righteous. When I decided to run this I had nostalgia goglgles on. I vastly prefer the SWADE Pathfinder game paradigm.
Potential games I’m looking into:
Dark Heresy/ Imperium...
Rough month of Kickstsrters
Lex Arcana - digital
Zweihander Reforged - digital
Coriolis: The Great Dark - physical but I might donwgrade
SWADE Sci-fi Companion
Cypher on Backerkit but I might back out.
I run a weekly Tuesday game session over Foundry. It was my weekly in person group pre-Covid and once we moved online we haven’t moved back. Scheduling and attendance has been much easier. Occasionally that group meets in person on a Saturday for something special. Currently running Wrath of...
The 7e version is what I ran. Its gourgeous. There’s a 400 page supplemental fan made pdf out there with a ton more information on local color and other advice.
I ran it pulp style in SWADE so I went into with the idea that a bunch of stuff would be resolved with two fisted punching and...
I had a character get sucked into a painting and transported back in time. The curious inventory then jumped in after him after he saw him in the painting. Ahhh London!
