They aren’t “feats” in the same sense. They are class features. They aren’t something you pick. That’s like saying turn undead is a feat in 2e or BX/BECMI

We were fine without them being core for a decade. I run DCC, 3.x derived. No feats and I don’t have to hand out crazier loot for character differentiation. Even with just 7 classes.

Adding the toon, LJN and Greyhawk revival has sold me on buying the books at least. Whether I run it or not is another story but this is all great news.

It has everything to do with it. The whole controversy in the OGL was lawyers saying that the D&D game was THEIR IP and they didn’t want people making more than they did off the IP. They were bringing everything back in house similar to the 3-4e transition. For a company like Hasbro it’s all IP.

So around the Chainmail era? Were they being issued by WOTC after Reaper did them? I thought Mike McVey was running WOTC’s D&D in house. Thank you for your response.

With how the OGL issue was about controlling & protecting their IP? I doubt it. They have pretty tight reins at WOTC.
