Colonial Gothic: An Interview with Richard G. Iorio

The Kickstarter should go live this month. I'm working with someone to help me run this whole thing so I have to consider that. I can tell you that the beast of a manuscript is through with editing, and I am addressing them now. I am finishing up Chapter 4 of 14. The Bibliography is the stage...

Colonial Gothic: An Interview with Richard G. Iorio

Let me add to the history. I treat history as it happened. You will not see Washington hunting vampires and the like. I add things that happened in the background; it is in the shadows that the game concerns itself with. What makes this game, IMO, is that I stay true to the history. I also make...

FoF uses a differtent set of rules. A lot of these rules could have been jettisoned so more of the Colonial Gothic setting could be put in. Add to this, the tone of the game does not in any way resemble what it is based on. I regret the whole thing.

Yes, it is the same as Shadow, Sword & Spell. As for 2d12, it works for the tone I go for in each game. A new edition of that game is going to happen to bring it in line with CG, but that is not a priority right now.

The majority of the book makes understanding the history and climate easier. The occult nd supernatural is still there but the real world is more defined.

I learned a lot during the FoF version. That is all I'm going to say. 👍

I hear you on the mechanic, and one of the reasons I am doing a new edition is to add the refinements the mechanic has had with play.

The Rise And Fall Of Evil Genius Games

Great minds and things. 🤣 I agree with you. It is. slice of history many seem to forget about when it comes to story potential. I love the period, so much so went to college for it. So more the better I say.
