I am not offended, just baffled by a complete lack of ability to use counter-arguments instead of mockery, and by the emotional attachment to a failed game after all this time.
Nope. what you and other were doing was a mockery, because the intent was dismissing heretical opinions. This happened over and over in the thread. What are you doing now is backtracking on that.
And again, if you keep spamming your "jokes", one cannot help thinking you didn't take this well...
I think some of these misinterpret what people actually said. The "mind control" was for powers like Bloody Path, which had on top beholders biting themselves and other nonsense. Any justification for what happened in-game was after the roll was done. Exploration rules ARE lacking, like it or...
Nah, physical damage with a certain amount of avoidance and a stamina that, the higher level you get, the more supernatural or at least extraordinary (as in 3.5/PF, "Ex") it gets is fine. An "Ex" ability to keep going. See also falling from heights. After a while you are not human anymore and is...
Evil is not an element, as in fire or water, but is physical in D&D. Sartre lived in the real world which is not a "black and white" universe like the D&D one - for the record, it goes without saying, but I am in no way, shape and form advocating this point of view for this universe.
See my...
Yes, this was indeed known back then. But we both agree I think that the flexibility is a thing, so is the augmenting mechanic.
What you call "cash grabs" were more spells that the designer, right or wrong, assessed as required for a basic caster functionality. The 3.5 Psion is full of unique...
Isn't most of Darkvision and such low-range? It can give you a skirmish advantage sometimes in certain moments of the day but not always in a large battle - say at long bow and catapult range, orcs are as blind as humans.
And after all, there are many locations in which humans essentially "lost"...
Fair enough, but in most cosmologies, outsiders are made of the material of the plane of origin, literally made of evil. I can agree that using non-official or official (see what James Gasik posted, that's a big one) material in which they work differently, a nuance closer to what is done with...
They meant that they didn't want dailies. Now one could argue "what about rage or certain PrCs with X/day powers inm 3e" which is a very valid counter-argument (which I use, I am totally ok with daily!). HP deserves its own thread, but many, me included, maintain that due to the way things...
I maintain is due to the cosmology.
Against orcs? I agree. Those are people, regardless of the horrible circumstances they got there.
Against demons? No reason to give quarter to literally evil incarnate.
"Everyone is a spellcaster" is reductionist, but you know well what people meant (dislike - which I don't share - for daily powers). The warlord can be perceived like that because many consider HPs at least partially meat points, albeit never completely. Better to not go on the financial part...
People have diverse experiences. What I remember is quite different indeed, and is reflected in this thread. There is one specific way to play and 4e is perfect for that, different experiences dismissed, the math works (false), the game will be the same (false), element X of 3ed must be removed...
