Ashin's Commission: The Great Escape!

(OOC: There are indeed a few spots of rough terrain. That's why I mentioned he'll have to make a short hop to avoid those, but you're allowed to jump on a charge--so let me roll.

EDIT: Okay, I realised I didn't ask you if you wanted him to Power Attack. I've already rolled, and it was pretty good, so you probably want to keep my roll--since I haven't told you what it is yet, I can still ask you for the Power Attack amount now and then call it a miss if you PAed by too much. Do recall that she has been quite hard to hit so far all around, especially for those not using touch attacks, though you do get the +2 Charge bonus.

EDIT2: Ah, you rolled too--I thought you wouldn't since you posted without rolling. Well, I rolled you a critical threat (19). That roll you made can be your failed confirmation ;))

Great! Note I used 1 point of power attack above. I'll stick with that compromise for now, as I believe in addition to a high AC she has some DR.

*Ironwolf leaps up from below and makes a powerful attack, impaling Aglaia through the back. Her eyes widen in shock and betrayal.*

"Ironwolf...I thought I could trust you...I should have known that those who call themselves 'good' are all treacherous, but...I thought you were different."

*Ironwolf withdraws the sword as he lands easily just below her.*

(OOC: 14 Damage. She's still okay, just sad now.)

*Although she looks like she would like to retaliate against Ironwolf for his treachery, Aglaia also understands the importance of dealing with her foes one at a time if she can, so she moves over and up five feet, well out of Ironwolf's reach unless he becomes amazing at jumping, as she makes four powerful attacks against the construct, bringing it down to half health.*

*But the construct gets lucky as well, and strikes twice, one of the blows pummeling on the spot where Ironwolf's sword had penetrated her chest, making the wound much deeper.*

(OOC: Wow, I'm rolling well for the good guys and the bad guys today! That's 19 Damage to her.)

*Zaeryl continues looking for more things to help keep fighting, but so far no luck.*

(OOC: Ironwolf's turn. She's too high up to attack unless he can somehow both get a running start and make a DC 20 Jump check in that armour, which I think is impossible for him

Patlin said:
"If you fight Zaeryl, you fight me too. Honor would so require."

"I thought I was very clear. I cannot stand by while you fight my companion, even if he acts recklessly. It is no treachery to engage in combat when it is forced upon you, especially when you state your intent well in advance."

Ironwolf will get out and drink his vial of antitoxin, preparing for the inevitable attack.

"So if this lunatic attacked the Mayor of Orussus, and they called the guards who tried to put Zaeryl away, then you would help Zaeryl fight off the guards and the Mayor? Somehow I doubt it. If you would, you're still not the man I thought you were. And if you wouldn't, then you know that you have betrayed me..."

(OOC: She's now missing 86. If she attacks the construct, there's a decent chance that she won't destroy it, and if it attacks her, it might knock her out right away, plus who knows if Zaeryl will find something else (probably not). If it weren't for that strike of Ironwolf's she would have been fine, but she has what she really needs, so the treasure isn't so important to her that she would take even a 10% risk of losing)

"Well, Ironwolf, I am still going to hold you to the rest of our agreement. Your friends are all safe, yes? Then show me you have some semblance of honour, and all those you love will remain safe."

"Hmm...I wonder if this will work..."

*She closes her eyes and concentrates, and motes of sparkling energy sprinkle down from her hands and over the fallen Chevaliers below.*

"Awesome! I freaking love this thing!" she exclaims joyfully, as she and the Chevaliers begin to fade away.

*But just then, some of the many crystals embedded in the far walls of the room begin to glow with a strange radiance, brighter and brighter and brighter, and her eyes widen.*

"What!?"

*And then they are gone and the light dims somewhat but remains.*

"Hmmph, piece of cake," Zaeryl proclaims, then he grits his teeth as the poison takes hold and he staggers to the ground.

(OOC: Alright, out of combat now. Depending on what just happened to her with the crystals when she tried to Teleport out, Aglaia may still be back eventually after healing, though, so I'll need to know Ironwolf's general actions for the next few hours or so

EDIT: Forgot to mention, but Ironwolf successfully uses Autohypnosis to stave off the secondary effects of the toxin)

ooc: Had he succeeded on that check before drinking the antitoxin? In that case, hopefully he can skip doing so.

Ironwolf's first priority will be to try and ensure all of his friends that are still alive remain so. If he can find a healing potion, he'll pick the least wounded of his companions capable of healing others and try to bring them to conciousness with it.

If Ironwolf knows of a semi-nearby temple of good clerics, he will send his psicrystal there with an urgent plea for a mission of mercy to restore the partially afflicted. It is his hope that the combination of remove disease and remove curse will work, even though the source of this suggestion is highly questionable.

Once he's done everything he can in that regard, he will spend up to an hour gathering valuable but transportable items from the treasure horde, including at minimum the crystal greatsword and the amulet he's currently wearing. We'll need cash to repair the damage this fight has inflicted upon us all.

(OOC: Yes, he had succeeded before. Antitoxin saved for a rainy day.

The only places nearby he knows are the ones to which we traveled with doghead, so the closest would be the Bainlundar lodge, I think, and that's still pretty far)

*Ironwolf has no potion around at the moment, and he has no real way of moving all his friends, unfortunately, unless he does it slowly one by one, so it looks like he may be stuck here until someone wakes up and recovers. Of course, by then there may be some...problems for the semi-Afflicted villagers.*

*Ironwolf will need several hours to catalogue all the items in the area. If he takes that time, he manages to find:

Many many coins of various worths.
Gems
Art objects
The crystal greatsword
The amulet
The dorje
The cognizance crystal
A large satchel
A pair of silken stockings
The sheaf of crossbow bolts
Three power stones
A small stone/rock, kept on a cushion in a box
A mysterious sapphire with platinum clasps to attach over the chest (Vestment Slot)
Two wands
A sturdy belt
A soft smooth cloak.*

The psicrystal reminds Ironwolf that it can only speak telepathically to others when within 1 mile of him, so Ironwolf is forced to rethink his plan. The Psicrystal will attempt to find anyone within 1 mile, and when it does so will pass on the following message:

"The affliction can be cured, but if it is to be cured it must be done quickly. Get messages by the fastest means possible to all local temples. The afflicted must be blessed with prayers of removing disease and then removing curse. We need as many holy men as possible capable of either or both of these blessings, and we need them quickly, or innocents will perish."

It will seek out as many people as it can find and pass along the message to them.
