Before Zephos was married to Halina, Urdiga tried to use her personal allure to gain the the favors of Zephos. However, Zephos spurned her affections. Angry, Urdiga led a flock of souls astray and used their bodies and souls to create the first undead.

Urdiga is the goddess of Undeath, Misdirection, and Temptation. Her followers are many, and their motives are often mysterious. While always evil, followers have been known to do charitable works while hiding their insidious plots. Worshipers are skilful at disguising their activities as those of another deity's followers, and often the true repercussions of their actions are not known for years.

Those that worship Urdiga often seek to cheat death, or to gain power through intrigue and misdirection. They seek to tempt others to follow Urdiga with offers of great power for serving her well.

If Urdiga is depicted, or appears to mortals, she is always a shapely and attractive woman of whatever race she desires, and has an alluring and intriguing aura that seems to affect both men and women.

Urdiga accepts donations of blood, as well as the bodies and souls of her worshipers. However, coin is also accepted, and coin gained from others through misdirection is considered as a greater donation than coin alone.

Valessa, Goddess of Love, Beauty, and the Fey
"vuh-LESS-uh"
The Fickle Lover, The Mystic Lady, The Faerie Queen

Greater Deity
Symbol: Twinkling lights in the shape of a heart
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Portfolio: Love, Power and fickle nature of Love, Beauty, Fey, Magic
Worshippers: Lovers, Fey, Those with ties to the faerie kingdom
Cleric Alignments: Chaotic Neutral, Chaotic Good, Neutral Good
Domains: Luck, Healing, Charm, Magic
Favored Weapon: Quarterstaff

Daughter of Verdante and Amphousa, Valessa takes aspects of both her parents. Amphousa spurred on the lust of Verdante, and bore him a child in an attempt to corrupt him. She held the child over him, keeping him a slave to his lust for her and his care for the child. She corrupted many of his creatures during this time, leading to many of the aberrations and twisted magical beasts that roam Enworld. Ever the vigilant mother, Halina stepped in and took the child, Valessa, and gave her to the fey to raise as their queen, where she gained domain over the fey and magic, while drawing love and charm from her mother. Valessa rose above her own parents under Halina's care and the watchful eye of the fey, becoming the embodiment of love and beauty instead of the corrupting power of lust like her mother.

It is said that her love has healing powers, as does any love she blesses. Love is fleeting and fickle according to her teachings, but true love has the power to unite, heal, and overcome all obstacles. The love of the goddess herself is said to heal body and soul of all ailments.

Valessa represents beauty of form and character and is said to be among the most beautiful of all the goddesses. It is said her true beauty is beyond mortal comprehension, and those who gaze upon her find feelings of warm [?]. Her followers believe she tones down her beauty when she appears, so as not to lead her followers that astray, or appears with a bright flame around her, obscuring her from being viewed directly.

Love is often happened upon by luck, and the fey are known as master manipulators of luck and magic, and thus both are domains of the goddess. The mystical and fickle powers of love represented in aspects of the goddess's domains and ties to the Fey.

Valessa is close to her grandmother Halina, and more recently on speaking terms with her father Verdante, who was ashamed of letting Amphousa manipulate him. She has formed a friendly rivalry with her mother, and is attempting to redeem her, while her mother tries to corrupt her daughter. Their worshipers meanwhile, have a fairly bitter rivalry, and it has not been uncommon for priests of one deity to be lured to the other. She supposedly has her eye set on Mongrel, who remains ever elusive as he wanders.

Psergei, Goddess of Fire
"SEHR-gay"
The Red Queen, The Searing Gaze

Enworldian Greater Deity
Symbol:
A black disc consumed by fire
Home Plane: Plane of Fire
Alignment: Neutral Evil
Portfolio: Fire, the desert, evil fire creatures, patience, pain, destruction, mercilessness.
Worshippers: Efreet and other evil-aligned races of fire, the Fire Tribes of the Lands of Fire, cultists.
Cleric Alignments: Lawful Evil, Neutral Evil, Chaotic Evil
Domains: Destruction, Evil, Fire, Sun
Favoured Weapon: Red Machete (Falchion)

Note: Evil clerics of Psergei with the Sun domain may perform a greater turning (as per the Sun domain ability) against undead in place of a regular rebuke, even though they channel negative energy.

Psergei is an ancient goddess composed entirely of fire. Though she can shape herself into any form, she usually appears simply as a column of red and orange flame. Sometimes she takes the shape of a humanoid, but retains her fiery substance.

Psergei demands only one thing of her worshipers; that they spread her fire across the world. She has no holy texts, her religion is passed completely by word of mouth. Some clerics have branded their skin with stories of Psergei's fiery wrath consuming entire cities, or the beginning of time when Psergei was the spark that brought heat and life into the world so that she could have something to slowly dominate and destroy. Psergei controls the Tower of Fire, which provides heat for all of Enworld. As such, she holds the power of life and death in her hands, as do those that control the other Towers.

Psergei's clerics are always evil. They have been known to "spread Psergei's domain" by committing random acts of arson, and are often banned from cities where Psergei is a known deity. The Red Queen is not well known except in the Lands of Fire, because her worshipers are notorious for causing all kinds of wanton destruction, and most living in the Central Lands have been executed, exiled, or are in hiding. The Fire Tribes of the Lands of Fire are nomadic desert societies, founded by Efreet, who have worshiped Psergei for thousands of years. The Fire Tribes believe that they are Psergei's chosen people, destined to control all of Enworld. They periodically cut away swaths of forest to the north of the Fire Lands to help the desert slowly expand towards the Tower of Earth, which they hope to one day conquer. They maintain a strict set of traditions and worship rites, many of which are cruel and painful, such as the annual fire sacrifice of a live innocent (sometimes a daughter of their own tribe, if a girl from another tribe cannot be kidnapped).

Psergei has a few temples, but most of her worshipers are nomads, so their places of regular worship are usually the massive bonfires they frequently build while on the move. There are several large temples of Psergei in the Lands of Fire, and many Fire Tribe traditions involve a regular pilgrimage to one of the nearby temples. The most famous temple is on the side of a volcano a mere 100 miles from the Tower of Fire itself. This temple was fashioned from the obsidian and the tunnels formed by rivers of lava from the volcano. Today the volcano is still active, and through some feat of engineering, the lava is directed around the temple itself, though the frequent explosions make it accessible only a few times a year. The temple has no permanent residents, but Psergei's high clerics make sure to worship in the temple whenever possible.
